My Grandmother on my mother's side was Evelyn Cottingham
Broadwater of Crystal Springs, Mississippi. She had a cousin who
researched the family about 30 years ago. This is how I
reconized the names of Thomas Cottingham and Dixon. I backed
reseached my cousin's information about 17 years ago. I am just
now picking it back up. I would love to find out more about the
Cottinghams. Thank you for any information you put on the
internet.

I just recently became aware of this website. I have a fairly
detailed family geneology that I inherited from my paternal
grandmother that in large part was the result of the work of
others. My wife and I began attempting to validate and confirm
this information but drifted away from that effort several years
ago. I would like to devote some time to reviving this work now
that I am retired. I will share what I have as soon as I get a
chance.

i have an aunt who went to england to look up the cottingham
ancestors. in march 1995 my brother harley richard cottingham
went to england and visited the town of ecottingham england he
also took some pictures of businesses that had the cottingham
name i have some of the geneology that he did research on
unfortunatley he was killed on april 19 1995 in the oklahoma
city bombing please reply for mor information on family members

Cottingham. I believe his father was Andrew Jackson Cottingham,

Emma Cottingham Helfer was grandmother to Theodore Rebennack Jr.
She was daughter of Stephen Wall Cottingham of Sheridan IN. He
was son of William Cottingham and Elizabeth Wall. Both died 1842
in Hamilton Co IN. Noblesville city. His father was Elijah
Cottingham and Sarah Dryden who came to Connersville, IN in 1824
and died soon after. Dont know where Sarah died. His father was
THOMAS COTTINGHAM od MD. and goes on to the first Thomas. Emmas
daughter Agnes married Theodore Rebennack b. Germany 1898 in
1924 and had 2 sons Theodore Jr. and Robert C. She died 1931 of
menigitis, and Emma Cottingham Helfer died 1935 in Tipton IN.
Her husband was Albert Helfer b. N.C. died 1949 buried in Tipton
IN.
