I am searching for information on the James Cottingham born abt. 1844,
I don't know where. He passed away March 13, 1901 and is buried in
Georgetown Cemetery in Georgetown, Colorado. I was shone where his
grave is by my Grandmother Verna Mae Browning before she passed away.
I have photos as well. He married Jane Cantrill, born May 10, 1847,
whos family I believe was from Gunnerside, England. She died in 1929
and is Buried in Fairmont Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. I have been
told that they came across in a covered wagon from somewhere in the
East and settled in Georgetown, Colorado. They had 12 or 13 children,
all of whom were born in Georgetown, CO. They are: Mary Jane
Cottingham, born 1868, died in 1900, married D. L. Golden. Elizabeth
Harriet Cottingham, born abt. 1870, married Harry Taylor. Miles
Cottingham, born 1872 who had a daughter named Dorothy and a son named
Miles who I believe married a Ruth Skeen whos mother was from Texas,
and I have reason to believe that he resides there today and has
children there. Hannah Cottingham, born 1876, married Thomas Keough.
Joseph Cottingham born around 1888 and died at age 50. Ester
Cottingham, born 1881 and died in 1928, married George Lucas. William
Cottingham, born 1884 and died in 1902 at 18 years old having Muscular
dystrophy ( a disease carried throughout my whole family line.) Mable
Cottingham, born 1889 and died in 1972, married Fred Kugler. My Great
Great Grandmother Lavena (Verna) Cottingham, born Oct. 2, 1891 and
died Sept. 28, 1958 and married Irving Knox Browning. I believe there
were 3 more siblings that passed away in infancy. Anyone having any
information on James Cottingham and his side of the family or Jane
Cantrill for that matter, please contact me through my above E-Mail
address. I will gladly share whatever information I have as well as
photos and family stories!!! This is one of the neatest Web sites I
have ever visited. Keep up the awesome work!!!

I have records of my cottongim family going back to the first
immegrant arriving on the Primrose. I am very interested in becoming a
part of your listing and getting regular up dates. My grandfather was
John Westernfield Cottongim son of Pierce and Margaret Stivers
Cottongim. We held our 28th family reunion yesterday at the old home
place of John W and his wife Lydia Cornett Cottongim they raised 12
children there. There were 121 family members in attendance. John and
Lydia had 63 grandchildren of which 41 or still living, 27 were there
yesterday along with their children, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. We meet the first Saturday in October and the old
Cottongim Homeplace Cabin in Pulaski County, Ky. My Grandfather
migrated to Pulaski County from Little Goose Creek i Clay County
because of a feud between neighboring families of which he was afraid
he was going to be come embroiled in. That in its self is and
interesting story. God Bless all my cousins, hope to hear from some or
all soon. Doris.
